BEING A METU STUDENT

JOURNAL ENTRY 2

Being a METU student is a privilege for me because METU is my dream. I always want to be here. My dreams come true and here I am. There are of course some challenges. First of all get know here take a lot of time. When I come here for the first time I do not know any place and I have some difficulties to find somewhere. Even now I fail keeping in mind some places. The other challenges for me are eating. Eating in here is expensive. We cannot eat in refectory at weekends and eating outside is expensive. My dormitory and my faculty is not close each other. So if try to go my faculty on food it can be so hard for me or for everyone. Thanks to the rings every student of METU can travel in campus without paying. I think this is a big serve for students. Even if METU has some challenges being a METU student is a privilege. There is no other campus just like ours. In here you can everything. For example, we have a hairdresser, tailor banks and market. So we can find almost everything without going out of campus. Also we have a big campus and a lot of green area. In summer days we can sit on the grasses. Apart from these the biggest challenge is the distance. My hometown is seventeen hours away from here. So I cannot go my hometown whenever I want. I miss my mother, my father, my sister. I miss everything. I miss my city no matter how small it is J. I tell myself that if I manage to come here I can get over all of these challenges. Over time I will get used to. When I get used to this challenges maybe it gets easier.
